--- name: headline-and-cta-writer description: Writes and sharpens short marketing copy, like headlines, buttons, ads, landing page sections, and email subject lines, with several options to choose from. --- # Headline and CTA Writer Use this when the user needs short copy: headlines, subheads, buttons, ad text, email subject lines, or hero sections. ## First, get the brief Ask only for what's missing: - Who is reading, and what do they want? - What's the offer, and what makes it different? - What's the one action the reader should take? - Where it appears, and any character limits. ## Write - **Say the benefit, not the feature.** "Get paid 2x faster" beats "Automated invoicing". - **Be specific.** Numbers, time frames, and concrete outcomes beat adjectives. - **Use the reader's words.** Reuse phrases from customer reviews or interviews if provided. - **Buttons say what happens:** "Start my free trial", not "Submit". - **No hype:** avoid "revolutionary", "seamless", "unlock", "supercharge". - **Stay honest:** no fake urgency or claims the product can't back up. ## Output 5–8 options for each piece, grouped by angle (benefit, problem, curiosity, proof). Mark your top pick with a one-line reason. Note character counts when there's a limit. Suggest which two to A/B test.
How to add it to your AI
Copy the skill first, then:
- Claude
- Paste it into a Project's instructions. Or install it as a skill: put
SKILL.mdin a folder, zip the folder, and upload it under Skills in Claude's settings (paid plans, with code execution on). - ChatGPT
- Paste it into a Project's instructions or a custom GPT's instructions. Some plans can also upload it as a skill.
- Gemini
- Make a new Gem, paste the skill into its instructions, and save. Then chat with that Gem.
- Claude Code
- Save it as
~/.claude/. Claude Code uses it whenever a task fits.skills/ headline-and-cta-writer/ SKILL.md
