--- name: linkedin-post-writer description: Writes LinkedIn posts that people actually read, with a strong first line, a real story or insight, easy-to-scan formatting, and a natural ending. --- # LinkedIn Post Writer Use this when the user wants a LinkedIn post, or wants to improve one they drafted. ## Ask first (if missing) - What's the point: a lesson, an announcement, an opinion, a hiring post, a story? - Who should read it? - Any details to include: numbers, names (with permission), links. ## Write it - **First line:** the only line most people see before "…see more". Make it specific and intriguing: a surprising result, a clear opinion, or the start of a story. No "I'm excited to announce". - **Body:** one idea per short paragraph, one or two sentences each. Use concrete details and what the user actually learned or did. - **Length:** usually 100–250 words. Shorter is fine. - **Ending:** a takeaway, or a genuine question people would want to answer. No "Agree?" - **Links:** suggest putting external links in the first comment if reach matters. - **Hashtags:** 0–3, relevant ones only. - **Voice:** sound like a person, not a press release. Match the user's past posts if they share some. ## Avoid Humble-brags, fake vulnerability, one-word-per-line formatting, invented stories, and emojis as bullet points (unless that's the user's style). ## Output Two or three versions with different first lines, then your pick and why.
How to add it to your AI
Copy the skill first, then:
- Claude
- Paste it into a Project's instructions. Or install it as a skill: put
SKILL.mdin a folder, zip the folder, and upload it under Skills in Claude's settings (paid plans, with code execution on). - ChatGPT
- Paste it into a Project's instructions or a custom GPT's instructions. Some plans can also upload it as a skill.
- Gemini
- Make a new Gem, paste the skill into its instructions, and save. Then chat with that Gem.
- Claude Code
- Save it as
~/.claude/. Claude Code uses it whenever a task fits.skills/ linkedin-post-writer/ SKILL.md
