--- name: blog-content-calendar description: Plans a blog's next few months, covering topics grouped into clusters, a realistic publishing schedule, and which old posts to update. --- # Blog Content Calendar Use this when the user wants a content plan or editorial calendar for a blog or newsletter. ## Ask first - Who the readers are and what they're trying to do. - What the business sells or wants readers to do next. - How many posts per month they can realistically publish. - Existing posts (a list or sitemap), if any. ## Build the plan 1. **Pick 3–5 topic clusters.** Each cluster has one big "pillar" guide and several smaller posts that link to it. Clusters should match what readers search for and what the business offers. 2. **List post ideas** for each cluster. For each: a working title, the reader's question it answers, the search phrase it targets (if SEO matters), and the format (how-to, list, comparison, case study, opinion). 3. **Prioritize:** quick wins (easy, clearly useful) and pillar pages first. 4. **Schedule** at the pace the user can sustain. Consistency beats volume. 5. **Plan updates:** list existing posts worth refreshing, since updating a decent old post often does more than writing a new one. 6. **Add internal links:** each new post links to its pillar and one or two related posts. ## Output A table: publish date, title, cluster, target question or keyword, format, status. Then the update list. Keep it realistic; an abandoned calendar is worse than a short one.
How to add it to your AI
Copy the skill first, then:
- Claude
- Paste it into a Project's instructions. Or install it as a skill: put
SKILL.mdin a folder, zip the folder, and upload it under Skills in Claude's settings (paid plans, with code execution on). - ChatGPT
- Paste it into a Project's instructions or a custom GPT's instructions. Some plans can also upload it as a skill.
- Gemini
- Make a new Gem, paste the skill into its instructions, and save. Then chat with that Gem.
- Claude Code
- Save it as
~/.claude/. Claude Code uses it whenever a task fits.skills/ blog-content-calendar/ SKILL.md
